Hmm… Time For GongFu?

I plateaued for a while at 260#, 250#, 240#, 230#, and now again at 225#. So I think it is time to add more physical activity to my life to make losing go more quickly again. After all I desire to reach my goal of 199# before the end of this year, if not sooner.

The Repose of my Maternal Grandfather

Last week I was in Nebraska for my mother's surprise 60th party, and stopped to say a final goodbye to my maternal grandfather in the hospital. Yesterday morning he reposed and tomorrow I will start my journey back for the Wednesday funeral. I thank everyone who has prayed for my grandfather, Durward's health, and I would ask prayers for the repose of his soul in addition to prayers for safe journeys for all of my family members and I over the next week. Thank you all in advance.

The funniest question came out of the mouth of Derek & Mindy's 5 year old son, Zachary, the other day.

It was, "Dad, why is Nicholas so cool?" I thought it was funny, but also astonished that this 5 year old child looks up to me so much. Kids are so cool. :-D

The unexpected 50

I was not going to do a weight update for a while, until I hit 220 pounds/100 kg but then I realized today at noon when I weighed in at 230 pounds/104 kg, that this meant that I have lost 50 pounds/23kg already! That is pretty momentous, so you get a unscheduled weight update today!

This means to maintain my current weight, I need to eat 2458 calories a day, but I am continuing to try and keep my daily caloric intake at 1500 calories, which in theory should allow me to lose just shy of ¹/₃ of a pound (5 ¹/₃ ounce)/0.15 kg a day with my swimming laps for 1 hour on my 2 days off each week.
